R.R., Rochester Bean and Cabbage Soup 4 cups beef broth 1 cup water 8 cups coarsely chopped cabbage 11 2 cups sliced carrots 1 cup sliced onion 1 2 teaspoon allspice 1 can white beans 1 2 cup chopped dill or 2 table-spoons dried sour cream and dill for garnish Bring broth, water, cabbage, carrots, onion and allspice to a boil. M.N., Farmington, Ontario County Cabbage Soup 6 carrots 6 large scallions 28-ounce can whole tomatoes 1 large head cabbage 2 green peppers 1 bunch celery Chop above ingredients and put in large pot with enough water to cover, season with 1 package onion soup mix, boil 10 minutes.
