Gammell owns the "green trailer" and three moveable "green houses" that he uses to power construction sites as an alternative to power from gas-fueled generators. If gasoline costs an average of $2.65 per gallon, Gammell says, the power house saves him an average of $4,591.20 per year -- with a payback period of 3.9 years and a life expectancy of at least seven years.
