Abstract (Document Summary)

Those were flush times for Rhode Island baseball. When [Frank Leoni] was hired as head baseball coach in 1993, the school paid him only $5,000. To supplement his income that first season, Leoni worked 30 hours a week making sandwiches in his father's restaurant.

With [Jim Mason]'s help, Leoni begin implementing the style he labels "intelligently aggressive." In a nutshell, Leoni demands aggressiveness from his pitchers, batters, base runners and, especially, his defense.
