Rountree and his brother, [Buddy Rountree], have a lot of friends who are parrot heads, as followers of [Jimmy Buffett] and the Coral Reefer Band are known. For the third straight year, Buffett will perform at the college. For the third consecutive year, the Rountree brothers have organized a bus trip to the show.

Last year, Rountree sent a picture of the bus group to Margaritaville, Buffett's merchandise store in Key West, Fla. The framed 8-by-10 photo was hung on the store's wall, next to photographs of Buffett performing with other musicians.

Rountree once hitchhiked from Knoxville, Tenn., to a sold-out Buffett concert in Atlanta. He talked a member of Buffett's road crew into letting him in backstage, Rountree said. But those days are gone.
