WASHINGTON, Nov. 25--While a battery of field artillery boomed forth

the 17 guns of a general's salute, 2dLieut. P. H. Sheridan Jr., this afternoon pulled the rope unveiling the bronze memorial statue of his father, Gen. "Phil"

Sheridan, of civil war fame, in the presence of the President, Secretary of War Wright and a host of civil and military notables and citizens.
