Abstract (Document Summary)

A total of 1457 vessels, of 614,216 gross tons, was the output of the shipbuilding plants of the United States for the fiscal year ending June, 1908, according to a statement just made by Rear Admiral Francis T. Bowles, (U. S. N., retired) president of the society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
