Tom "Moose" Lynch, Dan Roberts and John Tokarz are the players inducted this year, and John Carusone, William "Red" Clynch and the Holy Name Athletic Club of Stamford are the Iassogna honorees.
Roberts was a teammate of [LYNCH]'s with Gartenhaus. After spending seven years with Casa Loma of New Britain in the late '60s, Roberts pitched for [Gartenhaus] for 13 years, including 10 consecutive national tournament appearances. A four-time New England regional MVP, the lefty-hitting Roberts was also a key offensive contributor with a career .620 batting average.
Carusone has spent 45 years contributing to the growth of slow pitch softball, particularly in the Hamden-New Haven area. Since 1959, he has been Hamden recreation commissioner. As part of the local government in Hamden, including a stint as mayor, Carusone was instrumental in developing softball complexes for school athletic fields as well as in the town's parks.
