Abstract (Document Summary)

Derricks draws attention: Rookie defensive specialist Anthony Derricks is making some NFL teams take notice. His agent, Jeffrey Guerriero, said Derricks will try out with the Jacksonville Jaguars after the Sea Wolves are done with the postseason.

Instant impact: Derricks is an AFL Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year candidate. In Week 9 against San Jose, he set single-game records for most kickoff returns (11), most combined kick returns (11), kickoff return yards (336), most combined kick return yards (336) and most combined kick return touchdowns (four). He also tied for most tackles by a rookie in the AFL with 93. He led the Sea Wolves with 1,575 all-purpose yards, all on defense and special teams.

Sea Wolves rested: The Sea Wolves had a bye in the final week of the regular season. Two weeks ago they were routed by Arizona 60-28, committing six turnovers.
