STORE PLANS MAY CHANGE ; SEPTIC SYSTEM PRESENTS PROBLEM
[1S NEW HAVEN COUNTY/SHORELINE Edition]
Hartford Courant
-
Hartford, Conn.
Abstract (Document Summary)
It is the plans for take-out and catering that forced [Kevin Mulvey] to apply for a special permit that requires a public hearing before the zoning commission. The building has been a general store for more than 100 years and Mulvey could have reopened a store and meat market similar to Ward's operation with a simple zoning permit. [John Blake] said he has been working over the past three months to "get everything up to code" in the building and hopes to reopen a store regardless of whether Mulvey proceeds with his plans. Blake said a barbershop would continue to operate in one section of the building and a second-floor apartment would be rented soon. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner.
