COMPULSIVE GAMBLING CONCERNS EXTEND TO ELDERLY
[STATEWIDE Edition]
Hartford Courant
-
Hartford, Conn.
Abstract (Document Summary)
Psychotherapist David Spalding has a question he encourages health care workers to ask when they are treating elderly people. Spalding, who works in the state treatment program for compulsive gamblers, said he is seeing increasing numbers of people who developed gambling problems after they retired, compounding other medical problems. Spalding was one of the featured speakers Thursday at the 4th annual New England Conference on Problem Gambling at the Mariott in Farmington. It drew nearly 150 participants, almost all connected with the gambling industry or treatment of gamblers. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction or distribution is prohibited without permission.
