Oliver challenged the grievance regarding pay raises, with a news release stating faculty have received promotion, tenure and degree-completion increases in salary, and that while state appropriations have been decreasing, there have been no faculty or staff layoffs. Since I came to Valley in 2009, I have been fully committed to the mission of the university and I have advocated openly for transparency and inclusion in my administration.
