Abstract (Document Summary)

The string of home-grown No. 1's, which started in mid-June with "Head to Toe" by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, was ended by the Irish band U2, which moved from No. 2 to the top spot with "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."

Next week's champ is likely to again have a British accent, because the battle for No. 1 will be between U2 and Englishman George Michael, whose "I Want Your Sex" jumped to No. 2 from No. 4 and already is the leader in record sales. But look for U2 to win out again, because the controversial "Sex" is losing valuable chart points because of a continuing ban by many radio stations.
