Abstract (Document Summary)

Fortunately the film has Griffin Dunne. Dunne, working in a domain once ruled by Cary Grant, manages to be stuffy, naive and vulnerable but never undignified as Loudon Trott, the New York lawyer assigned by his boss and future father-in-law to see that newly paroled Nikki Finn (Madonna) gets out of town. Nikki has other ideas, such as getting the goods on the powerful businessman who framed her in the first place. Predictably, he's revealed to be Loudon's future father-in-law, but not before we have followed this pair on a dizzying series of adventures and watched them fall in rather improbable love.
