The White House isn't alone in struggling with a contra funding problem. The Chicago-based public relations firm of Daniel J. Edelman Inc. is trying to collect $25,000 in fees from an American lobbying group supporting the Nicaraguan rebels.
Daniel J. Edelman, head of the PR firm, said he has sent several letters to the National Endowment for the Preservation of Liberty demanding payment of the Washington-based group's overdue bill.
According to Manhattan Inc. magazine, the Edelman firm arranged four press conferences for the group to focus on Sandinista human rights violations and the threat of a communist regime to the Latin American area. It also got interviews on three network newscasts, "Nightline" and "Good Morning America," the magazine said.
