Abstract (Document Summary)

One is on the way down (Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone," now No. 70 after peaking at No. 2) and two are on the rise (Loverboy's "Heaven in Your Eyes," now No. 25, and Loggins' new "Playing With the Boys," No. 59 in its third chart week).

The success of "Take My Breath Away" and all those other "Top Gun" hits has been enough to keep the soundtrack at a solid No. 2 on the LP charts, where it had a three-week run at No. 1 until Madonna's "True Blue" album came along. This week, "True Blue" repeats as champion for the fifth straight week and also holds on to its No. 1 titles in Canada, West Germany and Japan.
