Abstract (Document Summary)

CAN YOU SAY VIDEO? The first program in a "Mister Rogers Home Video" series compiled from more than 500 hours of Fred Rogers' long-running PBS-TV show "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" becomes available from Playhouse Video on Aug. 12. "Dinosaurs and Monsters" ($19.98) helps young children understand what scary monsters are--and aren't. He visits a museum where dinosaur skeletons are exhibited and also visits a construction site where he learns to operate a machine with "big scary teeth."

Walt Disney Home Video premieres several family-oriented adventure movies on Aug. 19. "Savage Sam" ($69.95) stars Brian Keith, Tommy Kirk and Kevin Corcoran in the sequel to "Old Yeller." Other Disney offerings include "The Light in the Forest" ($69.95), with Fess Parker, Joanne Dru and James MacArthur; "The Mooncussers" ($69.95), with Oscar Homolka and Kevin Corcoran; and "King of the Grizzlies" ($69.95), "The Wild Country" ($69.95) and "Five Mile Creek--Vol. 12 and Vol. 13" ($49.95 each).

Tiny tots will celebrate the video release Aug. 21 of "Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation" (RCA/Columbia Pictures Home Video, $79.95). This sequel to "The Care Bears Movie" explains the origin of the Care Bear Family and introduces the Care Bear Cubs and the Care Cousin Cubs. The film features charming songs by Debbie Allen and Stephen Bishop.
