Abstract (Document Summary)

This week, as expected, her "Greatest Love of All" took over the top singles' spot from the Pet Shop Boys' "West End Girls," which means that Houston now has had three straight No. 1 hits in the last six months.

What is even more spectacular is that her "Whitney Houston" album has moved back into the No. 1 position on the LP list, making Houston the first female artist to score a chart "double" (No. 1 single and No. 1 album in the same week) since Kim Carnes' 1981 sweep with "Bette Davis Eyes."
