Abstract (Document Summary)

The current movie mania started in mid-May, when Madonna's torchy ballad "Crazy for You" hit No. 1 after both she and the song were featured in the film "Vision Quest." A month later, Bryan Adams went all the way to the top with another ballad, "Heaven," which was first heard in the 1983 dance movie "A Night in Heaven."

The latest film hit is Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill," which, incidentally, becomes the first theme song from a James Bond movie to reach No. 1 on the pop charts, after a number of other tracks--including Carly Simon's "Nobody Does It Better" (from "The Spy Who Loved Me") and Sheena Easton's "For Your Eyes Only"--made it only to the Top 5.
