Abstract (Document Summary)

Chicago-based Daniel J. Edelman Inc., one of the nation's largest and fastest-growing public relations operations, with annual billings estimated at more than $14 million, has a new president, effective July 1.

He is Richard Edelman, who turned 31 over the weekend. He takes the reins from his father, for whom the firm is named. The elder Edelman, 65, moves into the job of chairman and chief executive officer. He will continue in a hands- on role, staffers say.

The Edelman shop is second in billings nationally among independent public relations companies. In addition to its operations in Chicago and New York, it has offices in Miami, St. Louis, Washington, Houston, Denver, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
