GIRLS ALL-STATE TEAM Trish Andrew grows into stardom

Abstract (Document Summary)

When the girls basketball season began, Trish Andrew didn't set any "me" goals, just "team" goals. And the 6-foot-2-inch senior worked as hard as any of her New Trier teammates to achieve them, not for herself, but for her friends.

If playing on a 32-3 and state runner-up team was great, imagine what fun Andrew would have teaming up with Marshall senior LaTonia Foster, Whitney Young senior Cindy Conner, Whitney Young junior E.C. Hill and Immaculate Heart of Mary senior Kris Maskala.

Those five players comprise the first team on The Tribune's 1989 All-State squad. Foster is the lone first-team repeater. The second team includes Thornton senior Arlene Miller, Maine West junior Moira Kennelly, Hume Shiloh junior Courtney Porter, Bridgeport Red Hill junior Mandy Cunningham and Warren senior Crystal Cobb. The third team has Tinley Park senior Keri Lorenzen, New Trier senior Carrie Ramenofsky, Marshall junior Kenya Pittman, York senior Amy Stock and Maine West senior Tasia Georganas.
