Roxette moves to No. 1 with big ballad

Abstract (Document Summary)

Chalk up a great chart week for the Swedish duo Roxette, who managed to beat out two superstar acts-Janet Jackson and New Kids on the Block-for the No. 1 spot on the pop singles chart.

The song that did it for them is the big ballad "Listen to Your Heart," which jumped up from No. 3 to end the four-week reign of Jackson's "Miss You Much" (now No. 3). Roxette's repeat success (the group also hit No. 1 on the U.S. charts in April with "The Look") also slowed down the ascent of the New Kids' "Cover Girl," which could move only from No. 4 to No. 2 this week.
