Demetrius Brown made his grades to regain his football eligibility, but that doesn't mean last year's starting quarterback has made the grade with Michigan coach Bo Schembechler.
"We have to have a take-charge guy, a guy who understands the leadership of a Michigan team," says Schembechler, who probably won't name a starting quarterback until next week. The Wolverines open against Notre Dame on Sept. 10.
Last year's defensive unit was riddled with injuries. Worse, it was constantly riddled by big plays. "That's not Michigan football," rasps Schembechler. "We gave up a 98-yard run. We gave up a 60-yard flat pass. We gave up a 50-yard run by Lorenzo White at Michigan State.
