Over on the LP list, the "Dirty Dancing" albums held firm at No. 1 (the original soundtrack) and No. 3 ("More Dirty Dancing"), but there are indications that the end might be near. This week, the original "Dirty Dancing" slipped from No. 3 to No. 5 on the compact disc list, which often is a predictor of trends on the main album chart. And now there's a new challenger: George Michael's "Faith," which rebounded from No. 4 to No. 2 this week and now appears ready to return to No. 1. After all, Michael's "One More Try" single is doing extremely well (up from No. 31 to No. 22 this week) while the "Dirty Dancing" songs have just about been played out.
