Abstract (Document Summary)

Earl Nightingale, 68, known to millions for his syndicated five-minute radio commentary program, "Our Changing World," was considered the dean of personal development recordings and was cofounder of Nightingale Conant Corp., a pioneer in producing motivational audiotapes.

He was the voice in the early 1950s of Sky King, the hero of a radio adventure series, and was a WGN radio show host from 1950 to 1956.

Mr. Nightingale died Saturday in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz., of complications after heart surgery. He had lived for the last two years in Paradise Valley, Ariz. Services will be held in May.
