Abstract (Document Summary)

The original charter for this powerful corporation was granted to the "Illinois Parallel Railroad Company," and is dated February 17, 1851. Private Laws of 1851, p. 266. Though the corporate name was changed in 1853, the provisions of this act still remain in force, and may be thus concisely stated:
