BABETTE WAS PROBABLY the first top photographic model to have spaces between her teeth and get away with it. Before she came along, a girl had to have perfect teeth--either her own or caps acquired at the dentist's office. When I first saw Babette about five years ago when she came to our agency for an interview, I was struck by her impish look, her elfin quality.
