Too much TLC can dull teak

Abstract (Document Summary)

No one ever mentioned anything but wiping it with linseed oil to protect it, so this is what I did. For the last 20 years I have used Scand-Oil, recommended and sold at stores selling real teak furniture. This is the problem: I now have a buildup of this material, and the finish does not respond to rubbing after additional applications. If I call the company, I feel I would get advice to use only its type of cleaner, and other cleaners might be of a later design and more useful. I want a second opinion on what would work best.
