While the board hammered out new language for the resolution, [Pat Carey] encouraged the board to look at the Illinois 120 bypass as a separate issue from the much more controversial proposal to extend Illinois 53 north to Grayslake. The Illinois 120 bypass could and should be built regardless of the fate of the Illinois 53 proposal, Carey said.
