Abstract (Document Summary)

At my school, popularity is an extremely important issue to many people. Not to be sexist, but this letter refers in general to males. Popularity means that you get the most dates and "respect" from people. I have noticed that many of the popular boys, not all, but many, don't seem to get very good grades. It seems to me that many of the popular boys are actually the immature ones and will end up having a very hard adult life. For example, the other day one of my friends was harassed by two popular kids. I don't see why this is funny and wish that people would stop laughing at these immature sickos who have a real future of working at McDonald's! Why is getting a laugh important enough to degrade one's self by harassing a fellow student? Especially from the people who think they're mature? Gimmee a break.
