ANOTHER ROUND FOR 'COCKTAIL' HITS
[SPORTS FINAL, CN Edition]
Chicago Tribune (pre-1997 Fulltext)
-
Chicago, Ill.
On the pop singles' list, Bobby McFerrin was able to hold on for a second week as champ with "Don't Worry, Be Happy," which needed strong record sales to stay ahead of Def Leppard's fast-rising "Love Bites" (up from No. 5 to No. 2 and already No. 1 in radio airplay). And another "Cocktail" song, the Beach Boys' "Kokomo," zipped from No. 40 to No. 31 and is exploding in radio airplay. And there's more good news this week for the "Cocktail" hits on the adult contemporary chart, where "Kokomo" moved up to join "Don't Worry" in the Top 10.
