A MIXED BAG FOR 'ONE MORE TRY'
[SPORTS FINAL, CN Edition]
Chicago Tribune (pre-1997 Fulltext)
-
Chicago, Ill.
There's good and bad news this week for George Michael. His huge song "One More Try" swept to yet another prestigious title: No. 1 on the black singles' list. But "One More Try" couldn't quite hang on for a fourth week as champ on the main pop chart. The new king is Rick Astley, whose "Together Forever" moved up from No. 2 to give him his second straight No. 1-and also end Michael's run at the top. (It's interesting to note that when Astley scored his first No. 1 with "Never Gonna Give You Up," the song he replaced at the top was "Father Figure"-by George Michael.)
