Abstract (Document Summary)

As expected, Gloria Estefan & the Miami Sound Machine had another strong chart week, with their "Anything for You" single holding on for a second week at No. 1 and their "Let It Loose" album moving up again, this time from No. 10 to No. 9.

Michael did even better with his "Faith" album, which held on for another week as champ of the LP list (those surprising "Dirty Dancing" soundtracks are still No. 2 and No. 3) and added another major title: No. 1 on the "top black albums" chart. That establishes Michael as one of the few acts (and the first white solo artist) with enough "crossover" power to dominate both lists.
