A welcome partnership for schools
[NORTH SPORTS FINAL, C Edition]
Chicago Tribune (pre-1997 Fulltext)

Chicago, Ill.
An unusual program that has had impressive results in other troubled schools will get a five-year tryout on Chicago's West Side starting in July-thanks to a unique collaboration involving a corporation, two foundations, a private agency, two universities and 14 public schools. The plan comes to Chicago with high recommendations. It was started by Yale child psychiatrist Dr. James Comer in two low-achieving public schools in New Haven, Conn. Its successes there have led to its adoption by a dozen other school systems elsewhere. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner.
