On the pop singles chart, Collins' "Another Day in Paradise" easily moved into the top spot past last week's champ, Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" (now No. 3) and also notched a fourth straight week at No. 1 on the adult contemporary list.

And on the LP list, Milli Vanilli's "Girl You Know It's True" scored a surprising sixth week at No. 1 by regaining its title from Billy Joel's "Storm Front," which dropped to No. 2 after just one week as the leader.

Will these two still be the champs in January, when the charts resume after Billboard's one-week holiday break? It's possible, because the first No. 1s of the new year often are the same records that closed out the old year on top. But on the singles list, watch out for Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation," which zipped from No. 8 to No. 4 this week and is really taking off in sales.
