402 Jan DeKnock. The song that did it for them is "Hangin' Tough," which jumped from No. 3 to No. 1 on the strength of a big gain in record sales. (Last week's champ, Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted," slipped to No. 2 despite its No. 1 ranking in radio airplay.) At the same time, the Kids' "Hangin' Tough" album finally moved into the top spot after being on the LP list for an ancient 55 weeks. The last album to need more than a year to hit No. 1 was "Fleetwood Mac," which took 58 weeks to reach the top in 1976.
