Since then, Simply Red has had a tough time repeating that success. But the group is finally back in the top spot, thanks to their remake of the torch song "If You Don't Know Me By Now," which hit No. 3 for Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes in 1972. This week, Simply Red's version of the song did even better, by moving from No. 3 to No. 1. It also is in its fourth straight week as champ on the adult contemporary list.
