The Cubby Bear was named Nightclub Venue of the Year Monday night at Pollstar's 1991 Concert Industry Awards in Los Angeles.

The club was one of 10 nominees initially selected by a panel that included about 50 agents, managers, promoters and other professionals. Ballots were then sent to subscribers of Pollstar, a music-industry trade magazine that publishes concert grosses and other nuts-and-bolts information.

"It is where the industry actually gets to vote on what they consider to be the best of the industry," says Pollstar spokesman Shawn Miller.
