Abstract (Document Summary)

The median home sale price in Illinois for the third quarter was $118,700, up 2.4 percent from $115,900 a year ago, according to the Illinois Association of Realtors.

Median prices for existing single family homes ranged from $278,700 on the North Shore to $27,600 in the Kewanee area. Of the 43 markets the IAR survey covers, 34 markets evidenced increases in median home prices during the third quarter.

In DuPage County, Realtors' groups reported median sale prices at $166,200, a 3.6 percent increase; in the southern suburbs, median sale price was $90,800, a 9.7 percent increase; in Lake County median sale price was $141,900, a 5.4 percent increase; and the northwest suburbs showed median sale prices at $186,600, an 8 percent increase.
