TIAA-CREF, an insurance and money managing firm for universities and research institutes, said Stephen A. Ross and another trustee, William H. Waltrip, resigned after the company's independent auditor said it was doing business with Compensaiton Valuation Inc., whose owners include Ross and Waltrip.
