Mr. Markey was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Malden and its Holy Name Society and a member of the board of directors at Nazareth Foods Association - a children's philanthropic organization.

Mr. Markey is survived by three sons, U.S. Rep. [Edward J. Markey]. of Malden, John K. of Belmont and Richard P. of Charlestown; a sister, Marguerite of Stoneham; and five grandchildren.
