[Natalie] Thomson and a group of elderly Internet buffs - known as the Silver Stringers - have spent the past three years pointing and clicking their way into cyberspace to produce a community Web page filled with memoirs, war tales and video clips.
Although white hair and the World Wide Web often don't mix, word of the Silver Stringers' success has spread, spurring seniors in nearby towns and others as far away as Finland to create their own Web sites.
"The computer just happens to be a tool that allows these people to tell their stories," said Walter Bender, associate director of MIT's Media Lab, an academic research group that sponsors the Silver Stringers.
