Word that WEEI (850) lost rights for "Patriots Monday" interviews with quarterback Drew Bledsoe and coach Pete Carroll to WNRB (1510 AM) in a revenue-sharing deal only scratched the surface of the multi-faceted story. Observe:
The biggest loser is Glenn Ordway, who not only won't have Bledsoe to prod his WEEI afternoon drive rating but will find Bledsoe opposing him inside WNRB's 4-7 p.m. slot in a Pats' arrangement still to be signed. Further, the Big Zero and Fred Smerlas lose the Bledsoe chats' Fox Sports New England exposure three times weekly.
While Ordway loses big-time with no Bledsoe, Eddie Andelman and Dale Arnold can't be unhappy to shed Carroll's mumbo-jumbo. The coach was a drag on their noon-3 ratings, which have edged Ordway despite the less attractive time period. And Bledsoe propped up Ordway.
