Southwest Airlines, the king of the low fare carriers, will announce today that it is beginning service in October to T.F. Green Airport in Providence.
Fares and route schedules won't be announced until later this summer, but the Dallas-based airline will offer daily jet service from the airport's new terminal. One industry watcher suggested Southwest will fly to Chicago's Midway Airport, as well as to Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
