Abstract (Document Summary)

With the new South Boston convention center set to open in June 2004, IDG's president and chief executive, Charlie Greco, is interested in bringing Macworld back to town.

Greco met with Mayor Thomas M. Menino last week. He said the city has put forward some attractive concessions, including using the Boston Public Library for convention events and Massport signs for Macworld advertisements.

James Rooney, the convention authority's director of development and construction, declined to discuss what terms his agency might offer.
