Summit County Assessor Barbara Kresser said no such statement is on file at her office to back up the tax break that was given [A Romney], and [Eric Fehrnstrom] said Romney did not seek the designation.
Fehrnstrom declined a request from the Globe yesterday to release a copy of Romney's Massachusetts return with all income information redacted, but Romney's residency status visible.
After Romney went to Utah to serve as CEO of the Winter Games, newspapers there speculated that he would run for governor of that state. Romney, in an interview two years ago with the Globe, said he was not closing the door on a political future in Utah, where he enjoys strong popularity because of his work on the Winter Olympics.
