"It's anti-fiscal discipline, anti-affordable housing, anti- health care, and anti-Clean Elections," said Administration and Finance Secretary Stephen P. Crosby, who is Acting Governor Jane M. Swift's chief budget writer. "They laid an egg."
[Marc Draisen], who is also chairman of Massachusetts Voters for Clean Elections, said he hoped that House Speaker Thomas M. Finneran's antipathy for the Clean Elections Law didn't play a role in the housing cuts.
"I have no way of knowing," Draisen said. "If there is a link, it's a sad day for the Massachusetts House and a sad day for affordable housing."
