Like nearly all visitors to the Ithaca area, we marveled at its spectacular waterfalls and gorges. ("Ithaca is gorges," enthuse the locals.) Within 10 miles of the city are 150 waterfalls, including Taughannock Falls, which, at 215 feet, is higher than Niagara Falls. Then there is Ithaca Falls, famous because of its impressive size - 150 feet high and 175 feet wide - and its location - right in the center of town.
