Craig Annis has been hired has been hired by US Senator Bob Smith to coordinate issues regarding the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the Manchester airport expansion, high-tech and defense-related matters, as well as some issues concerning municipalities. Annis was previously an aide to Mayor Raymond Wieczorek of Manchester.

New officers and members elected by the board of trustees of New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, Concord, are: Virginia Hazen, director of financial aid at Dartmouth College, chairwoman of the board; Michael DeBasi, director of alumni and community relations at New Hampshire College, vice chairman; and Bruce Palmer, director of financial aid at Franklin Pierce College, and Michael Dolphin, guidance director at Alvirne High School, new trustees.
