Abstract (Document Summary)

A clutch RBI single from sophomore Jack Laurendeau in the bottom of the ninth inning and a magnificent 134-pitch, complete-game effort from All-Scholastic senior Adam Cole propelled Lincoln- Sudbury to it first Division 2 state championship with a thrilling 3- 2 win over Worcester Voke.

Wellesley followed up its undefeated 2004 season by going 17-1 and winning its second straight Eastern Mass. title. Unfortunately, the Raiders' woes in the state championship continued. Wellesley, which lost 9-8 in double overtime to South Hadley last year, made a late charge, only to lose the Division 2 crown to Minnechaug, 6-5.

Framingham cemented its place among the elite teams in the state after going 18-1-1 and reaching the Division 1 Eastern Mass. final for the second straight season. All-Scholastic center Julie Baskind and attack Shaunna Kaplan provided the offense (65 goals, 38 assists), while All-Scholastic senior Alexandra Hulme was the backbone of a stingy defense.
