Abstract (Document Summary)

PARK CITY, Utah -- Another Boston success story at this year's Sundance Film Festival was "p," whose director, Darren Aronofsky, was awarded the jury prize for directing. Producers Randy Simon, Eric Watson, and David Godbout are all from Boston. Lead actor Sean Gullette, who grew up in Newton and still lives there (his father is a professor of English at Simmons College), met director Aronofsky when they were students at Harvard University in the early '90s.

Producer Simon describes what he calls the p-ing of Sundance. "We're all staying in one house and it has a huge banner, with the p sign, hanging off the side. It's like a p frat house. There are also 40,000 cocktail napkins with the p stamp on them in all the bars and restaurants on Main Street. While we've been very respectful of the town, the rental car companies are going to have to spend a lot of time with razor blades getting the `p' stickers off their bumpers."
